Each culture possesses its own particular form of divination, the runic alphabet is one. It was first used by the shamans and tribal chiefs to predict the weather, outcome of battles or simply the best attitude to adopt given the situation. The Runes signify mystery and peace; they are used like an alphabet allowing man a connection to divinity. There are 24 in total plus the blank rune, representing destiny. The runes are divided into three groups representing three families of eight runes. The Teutonic Shamans mastered the art of divining this alphabet and orally conveying these purely divinatory predictions to their people, well before any form of writing was developed.
